Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely
production of the assigned portion of functional design documentation. This
includes developing accurate, thorough documentation that outlines the
technical and system level requirements in a structured and professional
manner.
Candidate must guarantee that all deliverables make adequate
reference to industry standards i.e. CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC and others. This
makes sure that consistency, safety and quality across the design lifecycle and
enhances interoperability and compliance.
Candidate will actively contribute to gap analyses between
customer requirements and the company’s current product capabilities. This
effort plays a key role in identifying the need for new development or
adaptation of existing systems to meet client needs effectively.
Candidate will also participate in the development of
functional design documentation. This includes system requirements and
architecture, interface control documents, scheme plans, control tables, block
design and other related analyses needed to support functional and technical
goals.
Candidate is expected to contribute to the management of
requirements in relation to the functional design, ensuring traceability and
alignment with the overall system goals. This includes verifying consistency
between what is specified, designed and delivered.
Candidate will support efforts in early error detection and
design validation helping reduce the number of issues discovered during
validation and site testing phases. This proactive involvement ensures a higher
quality of deliverables and smoother project execution.
Candidate will be measured by the timely and
budget-compliant delivery of design work packages, as well as the number of
errors raised during validation and site testing. These metrics will be
compared to similar projects to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of the
design contribution.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria
and Qualification:
Candidate must possess a qualification in Electrical,
Electronic or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or hold an
equivalent technical background from a recognized university. A strong academic
foundation in these domains will support the technical demands of the role in signalling
design and delivery.
Candidate should have 0–3 years of experience in signalling
design and delivery that demonstrating an ability to contribute effectively
within early career stages. Practical exposure in this field especially in a
railway environment will be advantageous.
Candidate is expected to have sound knowledge of
Interlocking (IXL) systems particularly their functionalities and applications
under Indian Railway’s environmental conditions. Familiarity with such systems
ensures alignment with industry standards and operational needs.
Candidate must have hands on experience in managing the
complete project life cycle for IXL solutions from design and development to
operations, servicing and maintenance (OS&M). This comprehensive exposure
is vital for delivering robust and reliable signalling solutions.
Candidate should possess the ability to evaluate various IXL
systems by analyzing their advantages and disadvantages especially in the
context of applications relevant to Indian infrastructure. This comparative
insight is critical for selecting the most efficient and cost effective
solutions.
Candidate who brings strong analytical skills, practical
experience and domain specific knowledge in signalling systems will be well equipped
to handle the responsibilities of this role effectively.
