Responsibilities:

 

Candidate is expected to work on site at the office for a minimum of three days per week specifically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the internship program as no leaves will be assigned during the duration. During this period the candidate will be assigned a dedicated summer project and is required to deliver a final presentation in the concluding week. The candidate will be closely supported by a mentor and manager to ensure valuable learning and skill development.

Candidate will be required to participate in mandatory weekly learning enhancement sessions to gain insights into Pearson the Technology organization and various professional development topics. The candidate will have the opportunity to engage in Pearson India office networking events and in person activities to build meaningful connections across teams.

Candidate will contribute to ongoing Azure Cloud projects under the mentorship of the SRE team. Responsibilities include supporting the development and optimization of applications on the Azure Cloud platform conducting literature reviews to stay current with the latest industry trends and summarizing key findings for team use.

Candidate will be responsible for maintaining well organized documentation of research and project findings throughout the internship. The candidate is also expected to produce comprehensive reports that may be used internally and possibly for external communication. Collaboration with cross functional teams including software engineers and SRE engineers will be an integral part of the role to ensure the successful completion of the assigned project.

Detailed Eligibility & Qualification:

 

Candidate must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or an equivalent qualification in Engineering, Computer Science or IT to be eligible for the internship role. Candidates who have completed their studies and are classified as freshers are not eligible for this opportunity. The ideal candidate should have a foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and services particularly within Microsoft Azure.

Candidate is expected to bring prior exposure to cloud platforms whether through hands on experience or related coursework which will support their effectiveness in the role. Familiarity with at least one infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tool i.e. Terraform or Ansible along with orchestration tools like Kubernetes, ECS or GKE is highly valued. A sound understanding of middleware and databases will contribute to the candidate’s success in cloud related tasks.

Candidate should demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell or Bash enabling them to automate processes and solve technical problems efficiently. Strong analytical thinking and a collaborative mindset are essential to thrive in a team driven environment. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is crucial for working across interdisciplinary teams and sharing technical findings clearly.

Candidate is expected to show a strong academic interest in Cloud Computing, automation or related disciplines with a demonstrated ability to stay current on the latest trends and advancements in cloud service providers (CSPs). A proactive attitude, willingness to learn     and the ability to take initiative in research projects are key traits that will ensure the candidate contributes meaningfully to innovation and continuous improvement during the internship.
